Why should I use your services?
You have invested a lot of time and effort in your work. We help you make the most of this effort by removing errors that undermine your writing or by improving the wording so that your ideas and arguments are clear.
Is my information secure?
Which file formats do you support?
We proofread and edit files in any Microsoft Office file format, as well as Apple Pages, Google Docs and LaTeX files. We proofread PDF documents as a hand-written mark up.
Do you work with US and British English?
Yes, we work with both.
What do you mean by 'revisions included'?
We will proofread and edit changes as you make your final adjustments, in a continuous process up to the time you submit or publish your document. If your document requires re-work after it has been submitted, we will be very happy to proofread or edit it again at a 50% discount on our standard prices.
When do I pay?
Once we agree the work with you, we will send a payment link. We usually require payment before the work begins but, for more complex documents, we can agree stage payments.
Is your work guaranteed?
Yes. We offer a 100% money back guarantee and will refund you if you are not completely satisfied.
Will you sign a non-disclosure agreement?
Yes. We frequently work with sensitive material for public and private sector organisations. We are happy to sign non-disclosure agreements and to comply with specific security or confidentiality requirements.
Will you work at our site?
Yes. With large projects such as bid writing, we can work on-site in order to collaborate closely with your team depending on your location.
Can you write documents from scratch?
Yes. We write documents from scratch using raw material provided by our clients.
Which specialist areas do you cover?
We are experienced in a wide range of business documents including bids and tenders, sales and marketing material, strategies, and policies and procedures. We have specific expertise in technology-related topics. We do not edit legal documents.
Will using your services conflict with university rules?
No. We always ask for a copy of an institution’s guidelines and work within them. This means there is absolutely no question that we have inappropriately changed the content or arguments. It remains your work.
What is your view on 'contract cheating'?
The Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) for Higher Education in the UK is working to tackle ‘contract cheating’, where third parties write essays and other academic material for students. We do not write material for students. We also take care not to cross the line highlighted by the QAA report Contracting to Cheat in Higher Education: “Some third parties will also provide proofreading and copyediting services. While these two services may not in and of themselves constitute cheating, it can depend on scale: major changes can lead to work being submitted by the student that is substantially different from what they originally wrote. Such services can be a gateway to full-scale contract cheating.”
Will you write my dissertation or thesis for me?
No. We cannot write material for you. We provide editing and proofreading services that comply with institution regulations. We believe that students’ work should be their own work.
Do you check for plagiarism?
No. We do not include a plagiarism check as part of our services. However, we can help you carry out your own check using a service such as WriteCheck (which is provided for students by Turnitin).
Which referencing styles do you support?
We work with any of the established standards, including AMA, APA, Chicago, IEEE, MHRA, Harvard and Vancouver. We can help you set up and use the bibliography tools in Microsoft Word.
Which subjects do you work on?
We work with any subject, as it is the text we are reviewing not the content. However, we will tell you immediately if we think your work is of such a specialised technical nature that we would not be able to meet our own exacting standards of service.
Do you work with LaTeX?
Yes. We proofread and edit LaTeX documents. You may need a LaTeX editor that allows you to highlight the differences between the original and edited versions so you can see our changes. We can also provide a version in Microsoft Word with track changes.
Do you do work for ESL students?
Yes. We provide our services to ESL students and customers outside the UK. We may ask for a sample of work so that we can assess whether extra time is required to ensure the end result achieves the same written level as a native English speaker.
How long will it take you to edit or proofread my work?
We provide a quick turnaround and will agree a timetable with you at the outset so you know what to expect. Generally, an experienced proofreader or editor can complete around 12-15,000 words a day.
Will you keep my writing confidential?
Yes. We frequently work with sensitive material. We are happy to sign non-disclosure agreements and we keep all material secure and confidential as a matter of course.
How can I be sure that my writing will retain the style and tone I want?
We understand how important it is to keep your voice as you intend. We will edit a sample so you can be completely confident that the changes we make are what you want.
